Description
Moss is an 18th and early 19th century house, built on the site of an earlier dwelling. It is the birthplace of George Buchanan. The house has undergone significant restoration, although two-thirds of the original structure was demolished in 1968, including a three-storey extension with a mansard roof that had been added in 1906. Today, part of the original house remains, alongside a modern extension to the left (which is unglazed on the front elevation), and a restored porch. The restoration work has been carried out with considerable care.
