Description
The Wallace Monument, located on Abbey Craig in Stirling, was designed by J T Rochead from Glasgow and constructed between 1862 and 1869. This tall crown tower features four high barrel-vaulted chambers and is built from rubble, showcasing impressive baronial details. Adjacent to the tower is a single-storey building. Inside, there is a bronze statue of Wallace in a niche created by D W Stevenson, along with a collection of marble busts also by Stevenson, and one bronze bust by Pittendrigh MacGillivray.
