Description
4 Broomgate in Lanark is an earlier 19th-century building consisting of two tenements, each featuring three storeys and three windows. The ground storeys are painted and rendered, while the upper sections are constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar margins, and include droved long and short dressings and quoins. Each tenement has a central pend with shop fronts on either side. There are three windows on each floor above, some of which retain their original 12-pane glazing. The building has straight skews, end stacks, and a slate roof for Nos 4-8, while Nos 10-16 have an asbestos slate roof.
