Description
Carwood House is a building dating from 1832, with subsequent additions and alterations in 1845 and 1859. It is constructed in a simple classical style and is faced in ashlar stone, with a hipped slate roof. The house is two storeys high.
The main front has a symmetrical arrangement of five windows, featuring a portico. A string course and cornice run along the facade, and the windows are architraved with linked aprons. A lower extension, set back to the right, provides additional space. Details are further illustrated in “Glasgow and Lanarkshire illustrated” on page 127.
