Description
Calderglen is a building from the mid-19th century that was enlarged around 1912. It features a three-storey classical facade made of ashlar stone, with an original late Georgian block that has three windows. The facade includes a heavy cornice, cill bands, architraves, and consoled cornices on the ground floor. There is a deep Doric porte cochere supported by coupled columns. The symmetrical flank bays are two storeys high and have pedimented windows on the ground floor, along with three-light curved bows on the side elevations. At the rear, there is an Italianate tower. The kitchen garden contains an excellent greenhouse, which has an arched fanlight leading to a gabled porch and features ironwork cresting.
