Description
45 High Street in Biggar is a mid-19th century building with later alterations. It has one storey and an attic, constructed from snecked rubble with raised ashlar dressings. The central door slightly projects, flanked by two windows on the ground floor. There are two hipped dormers and one small flat-roofed dormer added later. The building features rusticated quoins and a cornice, which has been enhanced with a later secondary cornice and a blocking course. The slate roof is finished with coped skew ends, complete with stacks that have diamond flues and cornices. In front, there is a low wall topped with fleur de lis railings.
