Description
55-63 Dalbalir Road is an early 20th-century, three-storey, six-bay tenement that is part of a terrace and features commercial premises on the ground floor. The building is constructed from polished red ashlar and has a curved moulded parapet. The outer bays on the first and second floors have canted oriel windows, and there are moulded cornices along the top. Strip-moulded wallhead stacks are positioned on either side of the central bays.
The south elevation features a recessed central entrance with a timber door and a deeply recessed, keyblocked oval fanlight. To the right, there are two shops with glazed timber inner entrance doors and outer shop windows. The shop to the left has an off-centre entrance with a two-leaf glazed door, an oval moulding above the letterbox fanlight, and arcading work flanking the shop windows. The central bays have bipartite windows on the first and second floors, while the penultimate bays on the outer left and right have single windows, and the outer bays are canted.
The glazing has been modernized, and the roof was unseen in 1998. The building features corniced wallhead and gablehead stacks, with circular cans. The interior was not seen in 1998.
