Description
The Manse at St Quivox, built in 1823 with later alterations, is a two-storey, three-bay former manse for St Quivox Parish Church. It is constructed from tooled squared and snecked pink sandstone, featuring polished dressings, a base course, projecting cills, raised margins, an eaves course, and an eaves blocking course.
The southeast elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a Tuscan-columned doorway that supports an entablature with a triglyph and roundel frieze. This doorway features a panelled timber door with a decorative fanlight, and there is a window centered above on the first floor. Shallow canted bays flank the doorway, with windows in the center of the ground and first floors.
The northeast elevation is asymmetrical with three bays. The two left bays have regular fenestration, while the right bay is stepped down, featuring off-centre windows on both the ground and first floors, along with a narrow vertical opening on the right side of the ground floor.
On the northwest elevation, there is an off-centre window to the left of the ground floor in the left bay, and a window centered above on the first floor. The bays to the right were not visible in 1999.
The southwest elevation is also asymmetrical, with a three-bay block to the right. It has windows in the ground and first floors of the center and left bays, while the right bay is blank. There is a recessed bay to the outer left, with a piend-roofed single-storey block that extends to the ground floor, featuring a single window in the center and another window above in the recessed first floor.
The building predominantly features four-pane and twelve-pane timber sash and case windows. It has a piended grey slate roof with lead ridges and shouldered sandstone wallhead stacks topped with octagonal cans. The rainwater goods are made of cast iron.
The interior was not seen in 1999. The property is enclosed by a random rubble boundary wall.
