Description

Carleton Castle is an ancient tower associated with the Cathcart family, who also owned Killochan Castle. The tower has a typical quadrilateral shape and originally featured a vault over the ground floor and another over the hall floor, with some remnants of these vaults still visible. However, much of the structure is now in a state of ruin.
