Description

Earlier 19th century, with later alterations. 2-storey, 6-bay commercial premises, bowed to street corner. Painted render at ground floor; painted coursed sandstone at 1st floor. Deep band course dividing floors; eaves course; cornice; blocking course.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: grouped, 2-4. Central entrance to bowed 4-bays; pilasters flank double cornice; 2-leaf timber door; letterbox fanlight; flanking shop windows at ground; regular fenestration at 1st floor. Pilastered and corniced infilled doorpiece at ground to 2 bays to left; single shop window to left; regular fenestration at 1st floor.

NW (ALLOWAY STREET) ELEVATION: 5-bay. 2-leaf timber door to entrance to outer right; commercial sign to letterbox fanlight; regular fenestration at ground and 1st floor to bays to left.

Fixed shop windows at ground; modern tilting windows at 1st floor. Grey slate conical roof; stone skew and abbreviated stack to Alloway Street.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
