Description
The Old Parish Church and Graveyard presents an ancient appearance, although closer inspection reveals it has been extensively modernised and converted into a mausoleum. The graveyard contains the graves of Tam O’Shanter, Souter Johnnie, and other associates of Robert Burns. Historical references to the site can be found in Ecc. Arch. vol. III, page 582, illustration fig. 1559.
