Description

The Boat Store and Slipway at Maryfield, Bressay, is an early 19th-century single-storey storehouse with a symmetrical gabled design. The building features harl-pointed rubble walls accented with stugged sandstone dressings. A vertically-boarded timber door is located centrally on the west elevation, offset to the left of the north gable, which includes a slit ventilator in the gablehead. The roof is made of grey slate with clay ridge tiles, and the sandstone ashlar skew copes are topped with clay urn finials.

In addition to the storehouse, there is a flagstone rubble wall that projects east from the southeast corner and curves northwards towards Maryfield House. A retaining wall with steps extends to the left (north) from the west elevation. The slipway consists of a rubble ramp edged with sandstone, bordered to the south by a flagstone rubble wall.
