Description

Priorsford Bridge in Peebles was designed by engineer James Bell and completed in 1905. It is a single span, shallow, segmental arched steel cable suspension footbridge. The bridge features red brick piers, which are inscribed with 'Priorsford Bridge' on the northern pier, and have sandstone coping. It is adorned with steel lattice pylons topped with finials and a lattice parapet that includes curved ribs. The deck is made of timber and has an asphalt coating.
