Description

Later 19th century with later additions and alterations. 3-storey 3-bay tenement in terrace with shop at ground, advanced from line of building to immediate right and with 2nd storey breaking eaves. Painted polished ashlar at ground; painted stugged ashlar above with ashlar dressings, now mainly rendered. Base course, cornice between ground and 1st floor; strip pilasters; eaves course; stop-chamfered arrises.

SE (MARKET PLACE) ELEVATION: irregular at ground with deep-set door to right of centre flanked by windows; panelled door to outer left with plate glass rectangular fanlight above set in shoulder-arched doorway. Bipartite window at 1st floor to centre with hoodmould; hoodmoulded window to each flanking bay. Bipartite window to outer bays at 2nd floor, breaking eaves and in gabled dormerheads with ashlar finials.

NE (RETURN) ELEVATION: window at each floor.

NW ELEVATION: not seen, 1995.

Modern glazing at 1st and 2nd floors; plate glass fixed-pane windows at ground. Slate roof, platformed at apex. Ashlar coped mutual stacks.
