Description

Ashiestiel House is a historic building that was the home of Sir Walter Scott from 1804 to 1812. The original house is believed to date from 1660, but it was recast and enlarged over time. The current appearance of the house, featuring crowstepped gables and dormers, reflects mid-19th century design.
