Description
15-16 Market Place in Selkirk is an early 19th-century building that has undergone later additions and alterations. It is a two-storey, two-bay structure that forms part of a terrace and features shop accommodation on the ground floor. The first floor is finished in painted stugged ashlar, while the rear has a harled projection. The base course is pebbledashed, and there is a cill course at the first floor level, along with an eaves course.
On the southeast elevation facing Market Place, there is a modern shop front at ground level with plate glass windows and an inset door, topped by a modern fascia. The first floor has widely spaced bays, each containing a window.
The northwest elevation includes a full-height projection with a modern addition. The building has plate glass timber sash and case windows and is topped with a slate roof.
The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1995.
