Description

Later 19th century single storey lodge with part-attic, decorative barge boards and later additions and alterations. Harled with sandstone dressings. Moulded string course stepping over windows at ground.

S ELEVATION: 3-bay. Mullioned windows to centre and in bay to left. Slightly advanced gabled bay to right, with canted window at ground with cornice, and window at 1st floor in gablehead with dated and inscribed pedimented surround: "Mihi vivere Christus et mori lucrum 1596" (see Notes). Later door with canopy to outer right.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: later single storey addition to outer right.Variety of windows, mullioned timber casement windows to S elevation except 12-pane timber sash and case window at 1st floor. Terracotta tile roof with plain ridge tiles; roof extending to ground floor to E; dormer window to E with segmental-arched multi-paned window. Harled paired stacks to N of E gable, later red brick stack between bays to left to S. Timber ornamental barge boarding to gable in bay to right with Kingpost and finial at apex. Timber barge board to gable, W elevation.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1995.

BOUNDARY WALLS: rubble with ashlar coping and timber railings.
