1 Manse Cottages, Edrom

1 Manse Cottages in Edrom are late 19th century gabled cottages with later additions and alterations. They are two stories tall and consist of a mirrored pair with four bays. The exterior is made of stugged squared and snecked sandstone, featuring bull-faced sandstone dressings on the sides and front. At the rear, there is a single-storey platformed addition that has been line-rendered.

On the east (principal) elevation, the central two bays have M-gables and each bay features a tripartite transomed window on both floors. The outer bays are set back and include a timber-bracketed half-piended canopy at the re-entrant angle. There is a boarded door for No 1 on the outer left and a modern panelled door for No 2 on the outer right.

The west elevation has a later single-storey addition that projects at ground level, with a window in each bay. There are also two later windows grouped in the center that break the eaves at the first floor.

The southern two-bay group (No 1, to the left) has modern glazing, while the northern two-bay group (No 2, to the right) features timber mullioned and transomed windows, with three lower panes and six upper panes in each section. The roof is slate, with jerk-headed sections at the north and south, and is adorned with terracotta ornamental ridge tiles and finials. The eaves of the west elevation show exposed rafters, and the gables on the east and side elevations have plain timber bargeboarding. There are brick stacks present.

The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1996.
