Description

Lugate Bridge, built around 1790, is a well-proportioned road bridge featuring three segmental arches, with the highest arch positioned at the center. The bridge is constructed from rubble and has dressed pink sandstone voussoirs. The abutments curve outward at the embankment on both sides and continue as extended walls with cylindrical piers at the southern end. The flat-coped parapet rises to a shallow pitch at the center, and there are rounded cut-waters.
