Description

The Old Stow Kirk Burial Ground is primarily an 18th and 19th century burial site, featuring some earlier gravestones. It contains a notable collection of memorials and enclosures, including several tomb tables located to the south of the church. One significant feature is the Tait of Pirn enclosure on the south wall, which has engaged Tuscan columns designed by the sculptor Archibald Ritchie in 1851. The burial ground is bordered by coped rubble walls along the road, which are complemented by pyramid-capped gatepiers.
