Description

The Walled Garden at Linthill House dates from the early to earlier 19th century and features a rectangular plan. It is enclosed by flat-coped rubble walls that are stepped at the north and northwest entrance. At the northwest corner, there is a red sandstone ashlar portico and a decorative ironwork pedestrian gate. Additional pedestrian entrances with boarded timber doors are located on the north and east sides. The north wall includes circular flues and a slate-roofed lean-to rubble range on the north elevation, while to the south, there is a large rectangular-plan glasshouse with a brick base.
