Description
10 The Square in Kelso is likely a late 18th century building that consists of a three-storey, five-bay, two-house block. The front was altered in the mid-19th century. Number 10 features three bays, with ground floor windows that have lugged surrounds and a continuous cornice that breaks forward over a bracketed door to the right. The first-floor windows are adorned with a bracketed cornice. Number 11 has a mid-19th century shop inserted at the ground floor and plain raised surrounds at the upper floor windows. The building has angle quoins at the ends of the block, a continuous cornice at the wall-head, and a solid parapet between piers above. There are two catslide dormers in the attic of Number 10 and a single piended dormer in Number 11. The building features brick stacks at the mid and end.
