Description

15 The Square in Kelso is an earlier 19th century building featuring three bays and three storeys, with a shop located on the ground floor. The ends of the building are accentuated by giant-order pilasters that are rusticated at the ground floor and banded between the first and second floors. The upper floors are finished in painted ashlar, with closely spaced windows and narrower windows at the outer bays. There are cill-courses at both the first and second floors, and a mutuled cornice that breaks forward over the pilasters. The building also has a blocking-course and a single segmental-headed dormer in the attic, topped with a slated roof.
