Description
The Flodden Field Monument, located at Scotts Place in Selkirk, was designed by Thomas J Clapperton and completed in 1913. It stands in front of the Victoria Halls and features an armour-clad figure striding forward, holding a bronze ensign, set upon a rough-hewn granite block that is carved with the words "Flodden Field." The monument has a polished ashlar granite base, which includes a brass plaque that reads: "This monument, embodying the spirit of the Selkirk tradition and erected to commemorate the Four Hundredth anniversary of the battle of Flodden Field, was unveiled by the Earl of Rosebury, KG, KT. Andrew Lusk Allan Provost, 1913."
