Description
Ivy Bridge at Glenormiston House was built around 1852 for William Chambers. It is a single span bridge designed in a classical style, featuring pilasters. The structure is made of squared and coursed local whinstone, with pink sandstone voussoirs, a band course, and moulded parapet copes.
On the north and south elevations, the bridge has a round arched span adorned with droved pink sandstone voussoirs and blind spandrels. Square piers flank the arch and serve as terminating piers, all featuring a sandstone band course. The parapet wall has moulded stone coping, with matching square moulded copes on the higher pier heads. The bridge supports a tarmacadamed vehicle driveway.
