Description
Duns Castle Estate Gardener's Cottage is a mid-19th century single-storey house with an attic, featuring three bays. The exterior is harled with ashlar dressings and includes a base course.
On the south elevation, there is a boarded door in the centre with a rectangular glazed section at the top. Flanking this door are bipartite windows at ground level, and dormer windows on the first floor that break the eaves.
The north elevation has a monopitch single-storey addition in the centre. The cottage features 4- and 12-pane timber sash and case windows, and the roof is covered with slate, showing exposed rafters on the west and east sides. Brick stacks are located at the gable ends.
The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1995.
