Description
Blackhall in Paisley is a 16th-century building that features two storeys and an attic, with a rectangular shape and a stair projection on the south side. It was restored from a roofless ruin between 1982 and 1983. The structure is made of rubble with long and short angle quoins and ashlar dressings. The south facade includes a round-headed doorway with roll moulding, two windows in the stair bay, and two ground floor windows. The first floor has four windows facing south, two to the north, and one each to the east and west. There are three gabletted dormers that rise through the eaves on the south side, along with one window on the west gable and a small window on the north. The eaves cornice is located on the south side, and there is a wallhead stack on the north. The roof is slate with two swept dormers on the north and features crowstepped skews. The interior of the building dates entirely from the reconstruction.
