Description
Bourtrees is a farmhouse dated 1734, as indicated on the door lintel. It is a single storey and attic building with three bays. The farmhouse has been renovated, and an extension was added against the north gable in 1982/3, on the site of an earlier steading. The original house is harled, featuring chamfered door margins and painted window margins. The east wall has a door, and the small-paned glazing has all been renewed. There is an attic window in the south gable head and a small inner central light on the west wall between two windows. The building has a moulded eaves cornice, crow-stepped gables with moulded skewputts, and coped end stacks. The slate roof includes three inserted roof lights. To the south, there is a single storey rectangular-plan range that was formerly part of the steading and is now partly used as a garage.
