Description
The gatelodge, likely dating to circa 1907 and designed by James B Dunn, is an L-plan building with a lower west wing forming a T-plan to the rear. It is a single-storey structure with harled walls and a slated roof. A simple timber entrance porch is located in the north-east angle. The north gable has a roof that sweeps over the wallhead, with a canted bay window below; the east-facing jamb, overlooking the road, has a jerkin roof. Wallhead stacks are present at the rear of the building.
Enclosing walls of curved and stepped rubble construction are topped with ashlar coping, punctuated by a pair of simple piers, each crowned with a ball finial.
This building should not be confused with a previously listed property.
