34, 36 South Methven Street, Perth

40, 42, and 44 South Methven Street in Perth is a later 19th-century, two-storey and attic, 16-bay Baroque tenement that features altered shops on the ground floor. The building is constructed of ashlar stone, which is channelled at the first storey, while the rear is made of rubble. It has vermiculated pilasters between the shops on the ground floor, a cornice at the ground level, a dentilled eaves cornice, and a blocking course. The design includes an off-centre pediment with a decoratively carved tympanum. The windows have lugged architraves with keystones and console-topped pilasters in alternating bays. The dormers are predominantly piended and canted, with some shops featuring timber mullions.

The first storey has predominantly four-pane timber sash and case windows, while the ground floor features plate glass and some non-traditional windows in the dormers. The roof is covered with grey slates and has ridge stacks.
