Description

The Monument at Millearne is a well-detailed Gothic structure built in 1840, made of ashlar stone. It serves as a memorial to Janet Jardine, the wife of George Home Drummond of Blair Drummond and the mother of John George Home Drummond of Millearne. The monument features a stepped base leading up to a tall square pedestal that has inscriptions and diagonal buttresses. Above this, there is an octagonal shaft with a moulded base and a late Gothic capital, topped by a large cross. The entire monument stands approximately 4.5 metres (15 feet) high.
