Description

Woodlands is a villa built around 1913, featuring two storeys and an attic, along with a single-storey service wing. The front and side elevations are constructed from bull-faced snecked rubble, while the rear is made of snecked rubble with ashlar dressings. The roof is piended and bell-cast, covered with green slates and terracotta ridge tiles. The villa has single and paired 2-pane sash and case windows with chamfered jambs, and multi-pane dormers with deep-eaved piended roofs. The gables have coped skews with kneelers, and there are coped tapered stacks.

On the west elevation, there is a central two-leaf panelled door, which is glazed at the top, framed by a segmental ashlar doorcase and a partially glazed lean-to timber porch with a bull-faced base. To the right, there is a full-height round tower featuring a four-light window on both the ground and first floors, topped with a conical roof and a weathervane finial. There are additional windows on the ground and first floors to the left, as well as a dormer.

The south elevation has single and paired windows on the ground and first floors towards the centre left, with a dormer above. The round tower is also present on this side, with a slightly advanced gable to the right that features a two-storey canted window and a ventilator slit at the roof space.

On the east elevation, there are three windows on the first floor of the main building. The service wing, which is single-storey, is advanced to the right and has a gable to the left with a bipartite window. There is also a door and two windows to the right, along with two windows on the right return.

The interior includes some original chimneypieces and cornices, a scale and platt staircase with timber balusters and mannered newel posts, and two Art Nouveau style stained glass windows.

Additionally, there is a single-storey lodge that is harled with a piended slate roof and timber sash and case windows, which are multi-pane at the top. The lodge features a partially glazed gabled porch. The property is also marked by two round-section gatepiers with rustic caps.
