Description
Middle Church and Hall, located at 4-6 Tay Street in Perth, was designed by Hippolyte Jean Blanc in 1887. This building features an early pointed, cruciform design with a wide 5-bay nave that includes aisles and a clerestory supported by flying buttresses. The north gable showcases a rose window, and there is a northeast porch along with a double-windowed transept. At the south end, there is a two-storey and attic hall. The exterior is constructed of red snecked rubble and topped with an elaborately detailed high slated roof that includes a central fleche. Inside, the church has twin-arched transepts with galleries, and the arcades are supported by circular piers with diapered spandrels.
