Description
Connachan Lodge is a notable early 19th century house of the Cottage Ornee type, featuring a single storey and attics. The building showcases impressive rubble masonry with long projections, and part of it is log-built. It has a five-bay verandah adorned with four-centred log arches and horizontal filling of the spandrils. The verandah also features a bowed and semi-domed treatment of diagonal diaphragm arches at the corners. The roof is hipped with wide-eaved jerkin-head roofed dormers. Inside, there is a fine Georgian marble fireplace.
