Description
Woodend House is a building that likely dates from the late 17th century and was extended to the west. The interior was remodeled around 1740 to 1765. It originally featured two stories with nine windows, and the exterior is harled with chamfered margins. Two of the western windows were replaced by a bay window around 1860, and the skews have been renewed. There is a moulded doorpiece with a gablet above it on the left, and a gable at the back of the house. A westward addition was made in 1928. The woodwork inside is largely original from the mid-18th century, including a fine panelled drawing room (now used as a bedroom) with a pedimented over-mantel. The staircase features attractive twisted balusters.
