Description

East Lodge at Taymouth Castle is a Georgian castellated structure featuring a Tudor main arch that is flanked by square and circular towers. The lodge is octagonal in shape and includes a circular stair tower, all constructed from stugged ashlar. It has a date panel from 1570 and incorporates armorial panels from the 16th and 17th centuries, which were salvaged from the demolition of Balloch. The architects Archibald and James Elliot designed the lodge around 1810.
