Description
Chance Inn is an 18th-century building that was rebuilt after a fire in the early 20th century. It is a single-storey and attic, three-bay house featuring piended dormers and a porch, with harled walls and painted margins.
The southeast entrance elevation is symmetrical, featuring a boarded timber door and windows on the returns of the porch at the center, with windows in the flanking bays. Above the outer bays, there are slate-hung piended dormers. To the outer right, there is a low piended bay with a modern window.
On the northwest rear elevation, there is a small window and door to the right of the piended porch at the center, with windows in the flanking bays and three dormers arranged in a 2-1 grouping above. There is also a low piended, L-plan ancillary structure adjoining at the outer left.
The windows are timber sash and case with a 4-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped harled stacks with some cans.
