Description
This is an early 19th-century burial enclosure within the grounds of Aberuchill Castle, situated on the site of an older burial ground. The enclosure is defined by a circular ditch bordered by a rubble retaining wall, with a small bridge providing access. The enclosure itself is square, featuring rendered rubble walls with margins of droved red sandstone at the gateway and along the coping. Simple cast-iron railings and a gate mark the entrance. Set into the walls are five memorial tablets commemorating members of the Drummond family. The burial ground is also known as Strageath’s Graves.
