Description

The Royal Hotel, located in Melville Square, Comrie, dates from around 1800 and features an L-plan design with two storeys and a dormered attic. The building is constructed from rubble and includes a porch at the re-entrant angle supported by Roman Doric columns. There are former coach-houses and stabling positioned at right angles to the lane, which are single-storey with a loft and have two parallel roofs. The block that connects the stables to the main hotel building has been reconstructed and is not in its original condition. The roofs are slated.
