Description

HMP Perth Gatehouse is a two-storey, three-bay building with additional single flanking canted bays, constructed between 1839 and 1842, and featuring significant later alterations. The central bay is made of sandstone ashlar and includes a pend at the ground floor, three round-arched windows above, and a crenelated parapet that incorporates a clock face. The ground floor flanking bays are built from roughly squared and coursed whinstone, with render above. The building has a piended slate roof.
