Description

The Dairy Byre at Taymouth Castle is a later 19th-century building designed in an L-plan layout. It is constructed from chloritic schist ashlar and features a three-aisle, seven-bay design. The roof is made of timber and supported by square-section cast-iron columns, with some wooden trevises and ceramic water troughs included in the structure. At the western end, there is accommodation and a dairy range, which includes an attic room and two wall-head chimney stacks. The building is topped with a slate roof that has open eaves and wavy barge boards on the gables.
