Description

Maxwell's Temple at Taymouth Castle is an 1831 structure designed by architect William Atkinson. It features an 'Eleanor Cross' type design, consisting of an octagonal lower section set on a nine-step base. The middle stage is cruciform, while the top stage is square and topped with a cross. The temple is constructed from ashlar stone and includes a staircase that is accessed through a stone door leading to the middle stage.
