Whome Kiln And Barn, Flotta, Hoy

Whome Kiln and Barn, located in Flotta, Hoy, is a single-storey, rectangular-plan threshing barn dating from the earlier to later 19th century, with a circular kiln attached to the west gable. The structure is built of exposed stone rubble.

On the southeast elevation, there is a central door, with the kiln set back to the far left. The east elevation features a plain gable. The north elevation has a central door and an additional door to the far left, with the kiln positioned to the far right. The west elevation shows the kiln offset to the left, alongside a later lean-to building made of corrugated sheet material to the right, which is not included in the statutory list.

The barn has timber plank doors, a corrugated sheet roof, and stone slabs covering the kiln. The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 2000.
