Description

Late 19th century. 2-storey and attic, symmetrical, trapezoid plan street corner tenement block with full height advanced semicircular bay to prominent splayed angle; yellow ashlar sandstone, slightly projected base course, plain dividing band between ground and first floor, stugged architraved windows, bracketed projecting cills.

NE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: advanced bowed bay to chamfered angle with segmental-arched panelled door to centre; plain ashlar jambs flanked by projecting ashlar margins; moulded arch with decorative carved spandrels and consoled cornice; plain entablature below 3-windowed upper; plain cornice below dentilled timber cornice.

SW (REAR) ELEVATION: irregular fenestration.

NW (SIDE) ELEVATION: 4-bay. Bipartites in bay to right of centre. Single windows in remaining bays except 1st floor left where square; 2 small square dormers with piended roofs.

E (SIDE) ELEVATION: timber plate glass sash and case windows; grey slate roof coped chimney to centre and rear SW wallhead; cast-iron rainwater goods with rectangular hoppers.

INTERIOR: not seen 2000.
