Description

The War Memorial in Viewpark, Beith, was built in 1919 and resited in 1947. It stands on an octagonal stepped plinth and features an octagonal pedestal that is inscribed with the names of the fallen, topped with a cornice. Above this is an octagonal column with a laurel wreath at its base, which is adorned with Celtic knotwork that culminates in a Celtic cross. The memorial is made of pale grey granite and is set within a paved area surrounded by a low coped sandstone wall, with steps leading up to the monument.
