Description

The water tower in Leverburgh, Harris, was built around 1920 for Lord Leverhulme's unsuccessful fisheries development project. It was likely meant for domestic use rather than industrial supply. The structure is made of ferro-concrete and features a drum tank elevated on stanchions, with struts and ties that converge at the center of the base.
