Description
St Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Bornish, South Uist, was built in 1837 or 1838 and later remodeled by A. R. Conlon around 1955. The church features a rectangular-plan nave with four bays. Conlon added several elements, including a gabled vestry on the west side, a gabled lady chapel, and a gabled porch along with an apsidal baptistry on the north gable. The nave is adorned with pointed arched windows. The roofs are covered with slates and have straight skews and skewputts. Atop the north gable is a birdcage bellcote, which is topped by a cross.
