Description

Circa 1900 single storey shop front to mid-later 19th

century, 2-storey range (on sloping site) fronting N Castle

Street. Painted tooled ashlar shop frontage with paired angle

pilasters and corniced wallhead with blocking course and end

dies; centre segmental-headed pediment with carved

centrepiece comprising beehive and foliage. Centre entrance

flanked by large modern plate glass windows.

North Castle Street: 2-storey, shallow U-plan 6-bay elevation

of 2 builds. Rubble, tooled rubble margins. 2 entrances; some

blocked windows; varied glazing. Piended slate roof.
