Description
12 Grant Street in Cullen is a single-storey shop front dating from around 1900, which is part of a mid to late 19th-century two-storey range situated on a sloping site facing North Castle Street. The shop frontage is made of painted tooled ashlar and features paired angle pilasters, a corniced wallhead with a blocking course and end dies, and a central segmental-headed pediment adorned with a carved centerpiece depicting a beehive and foliage. The entrance is centrally located and is flanked by large modern plate glass windows.
The North Castle Street elevation is a two-storey, shallow U-plan with six bays, consisting of two different builds. It is constructed of rubble with tooled rubble margins and includes two entrances, some blocked windows, and varied glazing. The roof is piended and covered with slate.
