Description

30 Church Street in Portknockie is a cottage dated 1850. It is a single-storey building with a dormerless attic. The front is made of rubble that has been whitewashed, featuring contrasting painted long and short dressings. A similar design is applied to the two-bay addition at the west gable. The cottage has a central entrance and two-pane glazing, with a small gable end attic window that has been blocked. There are end stacks, with the one serving the small extension at the west made of brick, which relates to a former 'hanging him' (chimney canopy). The original roof was covered with slate.
