Description

54 High Street in Fochabers is a two-storey, three-bay house built around 1830, which contains two separate dwellings. The exterior features a mix of square rubble with tooled sandstone ashlar dressings, and the doorway margins are rendered with random rubble flanking the sides. There are paired doors at the center, and a deep bandcourse separates the ground floor from the first floor. The first-floor windows are connected by an eaves band, and there is a small gable attic window on the west side, with modern two-pane glazing. The house has coped end stacks, which have been renewed on the west side, and a slate roof. Inside, some beaded panelled window shutters are still present.
